Visit of Málaga

Ayuntamiento de Málaga
Ayuntamiento de Málaga
The Spanish school Debla for foreigners offers a complete touristic tour through the city of Málaga. You will discover its streets and the most important sights, accompanied by a guide who will explain each of them.
Our tour starts around the bullring „La Malagueta“. We move towards „Paseo del Parque“ where we can see historical buildings, such as the city hall with a front in neo-baroque style, the central bank and the vice-chancellor's office of the university of Málaga, which was recently restored.

Then we arrive at the street Alcazabilla, where the Alcazaba is situated, the Mozarabic power of the city, which still has gardens and corners with charm. At the foot of the Alcazaba we take a look at the Roman theatre which was discovered in 1954 and recovered for the city in 1994.

On the high ground of the hill is the castle „Castillo de Gibralfaro“. The castle and the Alcazaba are connected through a corridor protected by two walls. It was built in 1340 to defend the Alcazaba from siege. At the moment you can visit the castle and from the “Torre del Homenaje” you have a magnificent view of the city.

We take further steps and arrive at the „Plaza de la Merced“, full of life in the summer nights and a place where the birth house of Picasso and the Picasso foundation is situated. On the way in direction to the street „Gibraltar“ we find one of the most important elements of culture and museum of the city, the Picasso museum.

Across the „Patio de los Naranjos“ we approach the cathedral, tenderly called „La Manquita“ („The One-Armed Lady"), because only one tower was completed. From the “Plaza del Obispo” we get to the historical “Pasaje de Chinitas”.

The street „Marqués de Larios“ has always been one of the main streets where happens the business and tourism life of the city. On the one hand it is connected with the „Plaza de la Constitución“ and on the other hand it is connected with the harbour of Málaga which serves as entrance for thousands and thousands of tourists who arrive by cruise ships every day and who have their first point of contact.

Visit of Málaga
The market place „Mercado de Atarazanas“ and the square „Plaza de la Marina“ are the end of our tour. From there you can make out the sea anew, the same sea which we will see on the way back to school, because it is situated in one of the zones with the best views.
